Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 April 2026
Plain English summary: You get a free trial for your first school term, then €349/year for your whole school — no per-user fees. Your data is yours. We store it securely in the EU. Cancel any time.
1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between your school (“you” or “Customer”) and Sprig Schools (“Sprig”, “we”, “us”). By creating a Sprig account or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The person creating the account on behalf of a school warrants that they have authority to bind the school to these Terms. If you do not have that authority, do not create an account.
2. The service
Sprig is a web-based project management platform designed for school leadership teams. We give you tools to create and manage projects, assign tasks to staff, track progress, and communicate within your team.
We reserve the right to modify, improve, or discontinue features at any time. Where a change materially reduces the service you are receiving, we will give you at least 30 days' notice.
3. Free trial and subscription
Free trial
When you create a Sprig account, you receive a free trial lasting one full Irish school term (approximately 12 weeks). During your trial you have access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial.
Paid subscription
After your trial ends, continued use of Sprig requires a paid subscription at €349 per year (inclusive of VAT where applicable). This fee covers your entire school — there are no per-user charges.
Subscriptions are billed annually in advance. Renewal invoices are issued by email 14 days before each renewal date. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on the renewal date each year.
Price changes
We will give you at least 60 days' written notice before increasing the subscription price. Price increases take effect at your next renewal.
Founding school pricing
Schools that subscribe during our first year of operation (before 31 August 2027) lock in the current price for as long as they maintain a continuous subscription.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again, but no refund is issued for the remaining period.
Where Irish consumer law requires a refund (for example, within the 14-day cooling-off period for new subscriptions), we will honour that obligation.
After cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days so you can export it. After 90 days, all school data is permanently deleted.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Sprig only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Use the service to store or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or harmful
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or another customer's data
- Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the service
- Resell or sub-license access to Sprig without our written permission
- Use the service in a way that degrades performance for other customers
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules after giving reasonable notice, or immediately where there is a risk of harm to others.
6. Accounts and access
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You should use a strong, unique password and enable any available two-factor authentication. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
Each account may be used only by the named individual. You may invite as many staff members as you need — each staff member gets their own account. Shared login credentials are not permitted.
7. Your data
You own your data. All content you create in Sprig — projects, tasks, comments, files — belongs to your school. We do not claim any ownership over it.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
We will not use your school's data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models without your explicit consent.
You can export your data at any time from your account settings. On request, we will provide a full export in a standard machine-readable format.
8. Data protection
Sprig acts as a data processor on behalf of your school (the data controller) in relation to personal data entered into the platform. Our data processing practices are governed by our Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement incorporated into these Terms.
By accepting these Terms, you also accept the Data Processing Agreement, which sets out the specific obligations of each party under GDPR. Schools are responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis for any personal data they enter into Sprig.
9. Intellectual property
Sprig and all its software, design, trademarks, and content are owned by Sprig Schools or its licensors. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the service during your subscription.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you, nor does your use of the service give you any rights in the Sprig name, logo, or technology.
10. Availability and uptime
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance with reasonable advance notice where possible. Scheduled maintenance will generally be outside Irish school hours.
In the event of unplanned downtime, we will communicate updates via our status page and by email to administrators.
11. Warranties and liability
We provide the service “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond those described in these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including lost data (provided we have taken reasonable steps to maintain backups), lost profits, or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time by giving written notice. We may terminate immediately if you breach these Terms in a material way that you fail to remedy within 14 days of written notice from us.
On termination, your access to the service ends and your data will be held for 90 days before deletion, as described in Section 4.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
Nothing in this clause affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer under Irish or EU law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' written notice of material changes before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The current version is always available at sprig.ie/terms.
